TIM FITZWILLIAM

Chief Executive Officer

Tim began his journey with YMT as a volunteer and worked as a local team manager for 4 years. For over 15 years he worked in a senior leadership role as the National Manager and became the CEO of YMT at the end of 2021.

He holds a Diploma in management and leadership and a Certificate in Human Resources. Prior to YMT, he worked for an engineering company and in the banking and finance industry giving him a wide range of experience and a professional skill set for his role as Chief Executive Officer. 

Tim lives in Wollongong with his wife Jane and their eight children. He loves listening to music, keeping fit, going to the beach, and bushwalking.

JOSEPH PULLELLA

NATIONAL MANAGER

Joe Pullella was born and raised in Perth, WA. Joe grew up around the team and served as a volunteer in Sydney in 2015.

Joe worked as a professional violinist, having studied music at the UWA Conservatory, before switching career paths and studying a Masters of Physiotherapy at Curtin University. He worked at various hospitals in Perth for three years before changing direction again to come on board as the YMT Perth Manager in 2020.

Joe loves fishing, soccer, music and cooking, and says the best present he’s ever received is his wife, Alana.

SUE DEBATTISTA

National Finance Manager

Sue lives in Wollongong with her husband, Jeff and their three daughters. She commenced working for YMT in 2015.

Sue is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting.  Prior to working for YMT,  she worked for KPMG for 20 years.  

Sue enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, good coffee and a nice glass of red!

JANE FITZWILLIAM

eTERNAL CHANGE COORDINATOR

Jane Fitzwilliam grew up in Traralgon in regional Victoria but now lives in Wollongong. She has been involved with Youth Mission Team for many years, pastorally caring for many team members and women’s households in the Wollongong branch.

She has experience in administration through years of volunteer work within community organisations.

Jane is happily married to Tim and has seven beautiful children. When she’s not working with the team, Jane likes to get outdoors, play sport and go to the beach with her family.

SARAH SHIELDS

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Sarah lives in Wollongong with her husband John and their three daughters. She is very creative and loves all things design!

Sarah studied Graphic Design in Sydney and has worked for a number of international companies such as Innoxa Cosmetics, Caltex and L’Oreal.

Sarah spent time relating to YMT in her 20’s and loves the vision they have for young people.

She enjoys the great outdoors, walking and spending time with family and friends with a good chai latte.

SARAH RATAJCZAK

YMT SYDNEY Ministry Coordinator

Sarah grew up in Perth, WA. She volunteered for Youth Mission Team Sydney in 2020, and Perth in 2022.

She has a very broad range of qualifications and study history including a Diploma of Music Performance, a Cert IV in Christian Ministry, was a qualified barista and has studied a bit of journalism at Notre Dame. She also took on an administrative and ministry assistant role for YMT Perth in 2023 and has worked in Youth Ministry organisations, as well as other casual jobs that centred working in primary and high schools prior to.

Sarah loves many things including art and music, a pint, camping, movies and theatre, and has found a recent joy in fishing (these are all enjoyed primarily with mates). You may also catch her on the odd occasion listening to a podcast for leisure.

JOE PHILLIPS

YMT Perth MANAGER

Joe Phillips was born in Perth and grew up in a small country town. Joe met the team in 2017 and served as a volunteer in Melbourne 2019.

Joe is currently in his fourth year of a Bachelor of Secondary Education at ECU and has spent the last 3 years working in the events industry before he joined YMT as the manager for Perth in 2024. He enjoys surfing, skating, cars, basketball, astronomy, eating Malay food and anything to do with music!

LUKE RATAJCZAK

YMT perth ministry coordinator

Luke was born and lives in Perth, WA. Luke has grown up attending youth groups and being around the team from a young age. He served as a volunteer of the team in Melbourne in 2023.

Luke studied a Certificate of IV in Catholic Youth Ministry in 2020. He is a qualified youth minister and has been working in youth ministry for the past 5 years. Luke also worked in steel fabrication and welding as well as having a background in landscaping and gardening.

Luke loves his sport, especially footy and soccer. He loves pancakes, sad music, a cold refreshing beer, lego and is an avid coffee snob!

ANTHONY BOLLING

YMT mELBOURNE MANAGER

Anthony grew up in regional Victoria, but has lived in Melbourne since 2013. After volunteering with Youth Mission Team in 2018 and 2019, he worked in school-based youth ministry for 2 years before coming on board as YMT Melbourne Manager in 2022. Anthony is also completing a Bachelor of Arts/Secondary Education part-time.

In his spare time, Anthony can be found playing board games, tennis and the saxophone (generally only one of these at a time) or scouring Melbourne for its best hot chips. He is also a big fan of the Star Wars universe and Tobey Maguire’s portrayal of Spider-Man.

ADIL ALVARES

YMT MELBOURNE MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Adil was born in India and moved to Melbourne with his family as a baby. After encountering the team at the iSTAND youth group and camps, he served on YMT in Sydney and Wollongong in 2017 and 2018.  

Since then, he has worked in various high school and university ministries alongside completing a Bachelor of Arts (History and Politics) and is currently studying a Master of Teaching at the University of Melbourne. He has been working for YMT since mid-2022 and has been privileged to play a small part in bearing Christ’s message of hope and mercy. 

In his spare time, Adil loves bushwalking, music, reading, motorsport, and quality time with old and new friends.
